The pop-singer-turned-designer unveiled the first runway presentation of her L.A.M.B. collection at the Roseland Ballroom, taking a bow as her current hit, Hollaback Girl, blared on the loudspeakers.
The diva thanked her musician husband, Gavin Rossdale, and Vogue magazine editor Anna Wintour, who were sitting on the front row.
The stylish singer was very much appreciated for her outfit as she rocked the runway with her Love Angel Music Baby clothes, with a whopping 63 looks that ranged from to-the-floor knit hoodies and woolen rasta caps to belted hot pants and see-through net gowns.
One of the looks combines garden party with reggae; she calls it "Rasta Gatsby." Another, named "Pirate Trooper," draws inspiration from Vivienne Westwood's buccaneers and paratrooper jumpsuits. While many models did the usual stomp-walk down the stardust-flecked walkway, a few got into the groove and danced a little, especially when one of Stefani's new tunes was playing.
"I have a bunch of leftover tracks from making Love, Angel, Music, Baby," Stefani mentioned.
"And two months ago, Pharrell called me up, he was like, 'Come down to Miami and write some more songs!' And I'm like, 'OK!' I went down there and wrote four songs and played three of them tonight. They're really fresh.", the singer added.
Famous fashion designer Ralph Lauren dressed up in sneakers, jeans, a striped T-shirt and a denim chambray shirt has presented his collection, as well.
"I wasn't in the mood for a three-piece suit," Lauren said.
The desingner based his collection on the idea of sitting at a restaurant in the south of France and watching people dressed all sorts of different ways walk by.
"It's very eclectic as opposed to one statement," he told reporters after the show.
The President’s niece, Lauren Bush, who held hands with her boyfriend, David (son-of-Ralph) Lauren, sitting on the front row declared: "It was an amazing show".
